• Open Science helps to increase the transparency and rigor of
scientific research. It intents to be made shared and available to everyone to access, use and share with certain conditions, depending on the types of data.
• In Malaysia, the Open Science movement has already been initiated among academic institutions, but the current state of the movement remains vague.
• Unclear situation on to what extent the library has progressed towards Open Science. In connecting the dots, we need to know what we have done and can do soon in supporting open science.
Research data management in libraries involves the organization, storage, sharing, and preservation of research data. This includes providing resources and services for data management planning, data curation, data sharing, and data preservation. Libraries also play a role in educating researchers on best practices for managing their data for effective reuse and reproducibility. With the increasing volume and complexity of research data, libraries are essential partners in ensuring the long-term accessibility and usability of valuable research data.

An open access article is a scholarly research article that is made freely available to the public, allowing anyone to read, download, copy, distribute, and reuse it without any financial, legal, or technical barriers. Open access articles are published under licenses that grant these permissions, promoting the dissemination and accessibility of knowledge.
Open access articles provide immediate and unrestricted access to the findings of scholarly research, benefiting not only researchers but also students, educators, policymakers, and the general public. By removing subscription barriers, open access articles aim to overcome the limitations of traditional publishing models and promote the global sharing of knowledge.
